Sometimes data recovery means going beyond the USB port. For certain drives, we convert the original USB interface to SATA — which can mean installing a new connector and reverse engineering the drive's PCB just to establish better communication with the drive.
It's a lot of work just to get to the starting line. But sometimes that's what it takes to get the data back. Most shops stop at the USB port. We don't.
