Data recovery from a USB drive is often less about the connector and more about the tiny board inside. When a flash drive stops showing up, the failure could be broken solder joints, failed components, controller issues, or corrupted NAND.
Sometimes recovery means bypassing the damaged USB connection entirely and working directly with the storage chip. This is delicate work — plugging the drive in repeatedly or trying random repair tools can make things worse. If the data matters, stop using the drive and get it inspected before more damage is done.
